My interest in research began when I was introduced to the field by my colleagues who were practicing Research Coordinators. After thoughtfully researching the opportunities available in this field, I knew I wanted to be a part of this rewarding and growing profession. Being a Research Coordinator allows me to help people by evaluating and educating them. Overall, I enjoy seeing the happiness and enthusiasm my patients feel after experiencing improvements in their treatment.
After 14 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant, I began my Research work in 2000, investigating Rheumatoid Arthritis. Later, I joined Wills Eye Hospital, where I was involved with retinal research. I have also served as the Chairperson for the Coordinator Advisory Board in 2003.
Our current research at Retinal Ophthalmic Consultants includes clinical trial studies that are related to subjects such as Diabetic Retinopathy and Age-related Macular Degeneration. Here at Retinal and Ophthalmic Consultants, we hope to further our studies to include Glaucoma, Ocular Plastics and other Ocular Therapeutics.
